Paralegal

Many law students are interested in finding a part-time paralegal role. A paralegal does not require an unvierity law degree but it is highly beneficial. Some firms, however, do require a bachelors degree.

 

What is a Paralegal?

If you have seen the movie Erin Brockovich, you would have an idea of what a paralegal is. A paralegal works under the supervision of a lawyer. They are not permitted to give legal advice of any kind; however they do perform a number of important duties and support the lawyer they work for.

 

Benefits of Finding a Paralegal Job

In the competitive job market, having experience is crucial. Not only does it makes you a more attractive candicate for a graduate law job, it also develop's a lawyer's much needed critical thinking

 

Paralegal requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Communication skills

  • Office and research skills

  • Law degree preferred (this includes current law studnet)

  • The willingness to help your lawyer

  • Logic
